Shriekfest Film Festival to Screen Spanish Thriller The Glass Coffin (El Ataúd de Cristal)
The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 5
The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2017 finalists and is slated to screen the horror-thriller The Glass Coffin, starring Paola Bontempi.
The movie is about a maniac who traps an actress in a limousine, feeding her commands through a distorted speaker. She must comply with his deranged demands if she ever wants to leave the limo again. “If you like brutal horror, this one is for you!” says Festival Director Denise Gossett.
Kicking off with an opening night party at Boardners/Club Sinister in Hollywood on October 5, the Shriekfest Film Festival will take place at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Ave from October 6 – 8.
The festival will feature 10 films, in addition to more than 30 international short films that range across the spectrum of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.
Actor Denise Gossett created Shriekfest in July 2001, and the festival has since grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. This is the first year that Shriekfest will be bi-coastal as well, with Shriekfest Orlando kicking off on October 21. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
