GOOD MOURNING, NANCY

Wake up to…

It’s time to wake up from your nightmares and listen to Good Mourning, Nancy!

Hosted by Gracie & Abbey, long-time friends and self-proclaimed horror nerds, this podcast about their favorite scary movies will lift your spirits and give you the strength to join the living for the rest of the day!

Gracie Jarvis:

Born and raised in Upstate NY, Gracie first fell in love with horror when her mom bought her the Universal Studios Classic Monster Collection on VHS in the early 90s. Her current all-time favorites are The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Rosemary’s Baby, and the Scream franchise. When she’s not working her day job or hosting Good Mourning, Nancy, you can find her browsing the horror section in media stores, going on coffee dates with loved ones, baking, or acting in a local theater production.

Abbegail Katherine Brown:

Native to Upstate NY, Abbey has been a horror fan since she was 10 years old. Her favorite movies include the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of Wax, and An American Werewolf in London, but any horror movie will do. She is an artist by day at Revival Handmade & Refurbished and a podcaster by night at Good Mourning, Nancy, with lots of coffee, horror movies, whiskey, burritos, and adventuring in between.

Some of their recent episodes include…

Coffee Break Episode 7: Favorite YouTube Channels

Do you feel that chill in the air? You do? Well, cozy up while you listen to another coffee break mini episode! This week Gracie and Abbey discuss a few of their favorite YouTube channels.

Coffee Break Episode 8: Kids and Horror Movies

It’s our last coffee break of the season! We decided to talk about IT (2017) because everyone’s talking about IT! Should your kids see it? If so what age? Should kids watch horror movies in general? Why is horror beneficial to kids? All of this plus conversations about Pennywise’s GIANT head!

Episode 9: The Shining – Come Play with Us

Heeeeerrreeeee’s another Good Mourning, Nancy! We decided to try something a little different and have a guest on the show! Give a big welcome to Stacy Underwood, a fashion designer and owner of Painted Doll Designs. The three of us discuss in depth The Shining (1980) arguably Stephen King’s least favorite film adaptation of one of his works but still one of the best horror films ever made.

Episode 10: Saw – GAME OVER!

In this season finale episode, Gracie & Abbey get real philosophical about Jigsaw’s motivations and discuss some serious topics.*** WHOA. On a lighter note, Danny Glover is in this movie and so are a few people from LOST! Oh and that guy from that movie …uh… The Prince Groom or something.

Plenty of 5 star reviews for their podcast…

“Gracie and Abby are both very well versed on the subject, and offer interesting insights into what makes things ‘scary’, the role of feminism in horror, and behind-the-scenes knowledge.

If you’re fascinated by horror movies or even just people who love them, I highly recommend you give this podcast a listen.

Fresh perspective”

“This podcast is one of the reasons I’ve started watching horror movies again. I love the authenticity that Gracie and Abbey bring to each episode. I feel like I’m in on the conversation. These ladies are very knowledgable and bring an awesome perspective to a male dominated realm.

Hey, it’s okay to like horror”

“I really like the way these two make the horror genre approachable. Their knowledge of behind the scenes and wide range of interest makes the podcast really interesting. Highly recommend for other fans, female or not!”
