A GATHERING OF EVIL

“This book crosses ALL the boundaries”…

Gil Valle, the former NYPD patrol cop who rose to infamy in 2012 after he was wrongfully arrested by the feds for allegedly plotting to kidnap, cook, and eat women, fleshes out his fantasies in his debut novel, A Gathering of Evil, serving up a feast of gut-churning horror.

Sarah McConnell and Jennifer Miller are two young, attractive New Yorkers leading seemingly normal lives. Unbeknownst to them, they have been targeted by a group of wealthy and violent sadists, who meet through the Dark Web and share some rather unusual and deviant sexual desires, along with a desire to turn those twisted fantasies into reality.

Marilyn and Bruce, the wealthy couple from upstate New York who have organized the event, have gathered this group of people from all different backgrounds and brought them together through a common bond: The lust and desire to kidnap a young woman and brutally end her life.

The hunt is on. Will the prey survive this gathering of evil?

“What shocked me the most was the ability of Valle to develop really loveable and well developed characters that you wind up really caring about, and juggling them with a group of sadists so calculatedly evil that the villian in you wants to join the dark side. This book crosses ALL the boundaries and does not disappoint. If you read this book wanting and expecting horror and violence, you will find yourself gleefully struggling through getting what you asked for. I loved it!”

“Not for the weak! Was drawn in and finished in a few hours… the city that never sleeps is always awake and after reading this I may have to stay awake for a few hours … If you are a horror , murder /evil genre fan , a must read … even during the books darkest moments there was light for a chuckle … Even Dante had time for some comedy during the inferno… Gil takes us on a journey …. Goodluck on reading …”

“In case we haven’t been clear enough so far, this book is definitely not for everyone. Valle isn’t holding anything back here; he’s writing what he likes to read, and for an audience who is into what he is into. That said, he’s quite a good writer. His characters are crafted well enough so that you care about them, especially the victims. Fans of extreme horror will find this an engaging and compelling read, especially considering the history of the author.”

“This is one of the best books I’ve read on this topic. If your into this thing. Buckle up and enjoy the ride. Highly recommended! I can’t wait for his next book. I hope this book is a success, after all this guy has been through.”

“It is cold blooded and brutal and ends with a lot of violence. The book is great because the victims are interesting characters not just the villains, and that added to the suspense and horror.”

Author Gil Valle talks about writing  ‘A Gathering of Evil‘ in an exclusive article from Crimefeed.com

“Many people reached out to me directly on social media. A few of them suggested that I should channel my fantasies into a horror novel, so I thought about it and decided to give it a shot. I have the ability to tell a good, detailed story, and I think that something coming from me would have to be graphic and scary. I don’t think people who are familiar with me and the stigma attached to me would expect anything different.”

“I even had a hard time reading it when I was editing it. It’s not a book that’s going to be for everyone, but anyone who is into horror and wants to have their boundaries challenged should definitely check it out when it’s released.”

“When, if ever, does a thought cross the line and become a crime?”

RAW DEAL is the untold story of former New York City police officer Gil Valle, who in 2012 became known throughout the world as “The Cannibal Cop.” It is part the controversial saga of a man who was imprisoned for “thought crimes,” and a look into a world of dark sexuality and violence that most readers don’t know exists, except maybe in their nightmares.

After Valle’s arrest, media coverage exploded in a frenzy of lurid tabloid headlines and stories about the cop charged with planning to kidnap, torture, rape …and eat … women, including his own wife. But here’s the fascinating part; there was no such plan in reality. Valle was simply engaging in his own private fantasies, albeit fantasies that are abhorrent and grotesque, and for that he was thrown into prison.

Valle faced life in prison for his charges, and served 21 months for nothing more than having online chats about his fantasies. He was finally exonerated of all charges.

RAW DEAL raises the question of when does thought become a crime? A question that goes beyond his perverse sexuality to answers society must deal with in order to meet the challenge of terrorism. It will challenge the reader’s beliefs about free speech, the right to privacy, and government’s role in watching over us.

“You may never read another book like this one. It’s a combination sexual-escapades memoir, the history of an interesting and important legal case, a fable about the dangers of trusting the media, an object lesson about knowing who you can really count on in this life, and a 100-page love letter to the author’s daughter. All of this is packed into less than 250 pages. Well and believably written. I kept hearing (even from the author!) about how graphic and horrifying this book would be, but it wasn’t grisly — it was straight from the shoulder and to my mind lacking in horrifying details, except the parts about life in prison. The legal issues alone should make this required reading for every American. Read it!”

Gil Valle does an amazing job of bringing you into his world, and helping the reader to experience the injustice he had to endure. Despite it all, he kept his humor throughout it all and shows a resiliency that helped him to make it out of this ordeal in one piece. Raw Deal is not just the tale of injustice, but keeping your head high and hopes up even through what could be perceived as insurmountable odds. Raw Deal is a book you can truly sink your teeth into.”

“Don’t get me wrong. Gil’s fantasies are twisted! Some of the stuff I read in this book made my stomach turn, but when I really stopped to think about it I realized it was definitely no worse, in fact it was probably tamer than some of the things Stephen King and Jack Ketchum have written about and those two make a lot of money off their novels. As an aside to Gil, maybe take some of those chats and your innate story telling skills and write some horror novels.”

About author Gil Valle

The author of Raw Deal and A Gathering of Evil, Gil Valle rose to infamy in October 2012 and became known to the world as the NYPD “Cannibal Cop” after he was arrested for allegedly plotting to kidnap, cook, and eat women. These “plans” were formulated on a fetish website between people who never communicated in real life, and it was later found that these were not real plans at all.

Valle has since been completely exonerated, but his case remains in the forefront of a debate over the First Amendment, Internet privacy, and “thought crimes.” When, if ever, does a thought without any real action cross the line into criminal behavior and when are the civil rights of an American citizen violated?

Gil is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned his Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Before his wrongful arrest, he was an NYPD patrol cop for nearly seven years. He currently resides in Queens, NY with his dogs Dudley and Tyson and plans to continue writing fiction.

He has appeared on Inside Edition, Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen, People Magazine, Cracked.com, Slate, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, The New York City Crime Report, True Murder with Dan Zupansky, and many other places.
