Much like Florida and Sweden back in the early to mid 90s, so too was Canada a leader and innovator in the realm of death metal. Of course, any self-respecting metalhead is inherently familiar with canuck legends such as KATAKLYSM, CRYPTOPSY, and GORGUTS. This triumvirate of brutality put Canada, more specifically, the province of Quebec, on the world map.
Sure, there is no question that these guys are all kings. That said, there was one other band who, in their own right, also exemplified Canadian-bred death metal. A band who played, and toured, many a show with their above-mentioned peers. A band who has brutalized and hyperblasted their way through three decades of trends and pretenders. A band who never, EVER, turned their back on the music they helped to define. That band is, and forever will be, BLOOD OF CHRIST.
The year 2017 saw the return of these veteran wolves, unleashing their first recorded material in fourteen years in the form of an uncompromising and unrelenting single titled ‘Echoes From The 7th Dimension’. The song, taken from their their forthcoming album, Unrelenting Declivity Of Anguish, was the very first taste of the BLOOD OF CHRIST’s return to their classic Epic Dark Metal roots.
Today, we are pleased to bring you the entirety of Unrelenting Declivity Of Anguish. As you will soon hear, the seven songs on display are delivered in the band’s time-honored tradition of uncompromisingly-brutal-yet-sophisticated death metal.
