Shriekfest Reveals its Second Batch of Feature Films for the 2018 Festival!

The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 4 celebrating 18 years!

The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced the first three films of its 2018 feature film lineup. Film festival director Denise Gossett says “We are super excited to show you ourwonderfully diverse selection of amazing films from all over the world.”.

The feature films selected thus far are listed below:

“Sound Wave” (WORLD PREMIERE) written & directed by Shriekfest Alum Dylan K. Narang (All I Need). A teenage inventor’s life spirals into chaos when a nefarious group discovers he’s invented a device that can hear into the past. Starring Hunter Doohan (Westworld), Katie Owsley (All I Need), & Paul Tassone (N.C.I.S, The Code)

“Killer Kate!” (WEST COAST PREMIERE) directed by Elliot Feld, written by Daniel Moya & Elliot Feld. Kate attends her estranged sister’s bachelorette party at the request of their dying father. The weekend, held at a remote cabin booked on a home sharing app, turns into a savage life-or-death struggle that pits family against family, and past against present. Starring Alexandra Feld (Slate Your Name), Danielle Burgess (The Sinner, The Deuce), Amaris Davidson (Insidious : Ch 3), & Tiffany Shepis (Sharknado 2, Victor Crowley).

“Camp Cold Brook” (WEST COAST PREMIERE) directed by Andy Palmer, written by Alex Carl. A paranormal team sets to check out an abandoned summer camp where a mass murder had taken place decades previous.Starring Chad Michael Murray (Scream Queens, Dawson’s Creek), Danielle Harris (Halloween, Hatchet II, Tom Holland’s Twisted Tales), & Courtney Gains (Children of the Corn, Back to the Future).

“Soul to Keep” (WORLD PREMIERE) directed by David Allensworth & Moniere, written by David Allensworth & Eric Bram. Siblings invite their friends to their inherited yet abandoned farmhouse only to become victims of a demonic ritual. Starring Sandra Mae Frank (The Sound of Fear), Aurora Heimbach (Murder Castle), & Conor McKenna (The Savage Eye).

The festival will also showcase 35 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.

The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 4 – 7, 2018. An opening night party will take place at Bar Sinister in Hollywood; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Ave.

Shriekfest, now in its 18th year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. This is also the second year that Shriekfest will be bi-coastal with Shriekfest Orlando on November 3rd. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors, directors, and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
