Coming to Shudder in March

MARCH 2019 HIGHLIGHTS

Death comes in small packages this month on Shudder, starting with the Shudder Exclusive PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH and the world premiere of the Shudder Exclusive Series CRITTERS: A NEW BINGE. The fun-sized mayhem continues with curated classics GREMLINS and GREMLINS 2, and ARMY OF DARKNESS with its legion of tiny Bruce Campbells. Then experience the genre through the female gaze with SHE KILLS, a Shudder Original Podcast by and about women in horror, hosted by actor, author and movie icon Adrienne Barbeau. PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH (2018) — available Thursday, March 7

Recently divorced and reeling, Edgar returns to his childhood home and finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother’s room. He decides to sell the doll for some quick cash. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that’s motivated by an evil as old as time. NEW SERIES

CRITTERS: A NEW BINGE — premieres Thursday, March 21

WORLD PREMIERE! This Shudder Exclusive horror-comedy series picks up the tale of the Critters, everyone’s favorite hairy, carnivorous, insatiable aliens from the beloved film franchise. Pursued by intergalactic bounty hunters, the Critters return to Earth on a secret mission and encounter lovelorn high-schooler Christopher (Joey Morgan, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse ), his crush Dana (Stephi Chin-Salvo, iZOMBIE) , his best friend Charlie (Bzhaun Rhoden, Van Helsing ), and his mom Veronica (Kirsten Robek, The Edge of Seventeen) , whose past will come back to bite them—literally. The series also features Gilbert Gottfried ( Aladdin ) and Thomas Lennon ( Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich ).

All episodes of Critters: A New Binge will premiere exclusively on Shudder in the U.S. on Thursday, March 21.

THE LAST DRIVE-IN WITH JOE BOB BRIGGS — premieres Friday, March 29

Proving once again that “the drive-in will never die,” iconic horror host and exploitation movie aficionado Joe Bob Briggs is back with an all-new Shudder Original series, hosting weekly Friday night double features streaming live exclusively on Shudder. Over the course of nine episodes, The Last Drive-In series will offer an eclectic selection of films, with movies ranging across five decades and running the gamut from horror classics to obscurities and foreign cult favorites. From time to time, special surprise guests will drop in on Joe Bob and Darcy the Mail Girl.

Each weekly double feature will premiere on Shudder’s live stream Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT, beginning March 29 and concluding on Friday, May 24, Memorial Day Weekend..

SHUDDER ORIGINAL PODCAST

SHE KILLS — premieres Friday, March 1

Experience the genre through the female gaze with She Kills , hosted by actor, author and movie
icon Adrienne Barbeau ( The Fog , C reepshow , Escape from New York ). She Kills , a podcast by and about women in horror, pairs notable women—actors, directors, writers and journalists—for frank and revealing conversations about female representation and inclusion in genre filmmaking. Guests include beloved stars like Barbara Crampton, Jennifer Tilly , and Dee Wallace , genre innovators like Anna Biller, Alex Essoe , and Pollyanna McIntosh , and writers, critics and horror experts like Blaire Bercy, Grae Drake , and Dana Schwartz .

All ten episodes will be made available on Shudder on Friday, March 1 , exclusively for its members on Friday, March 1. Episode 1, featuring a conversation with director Karyn Kusama ( Destroyer , Jennifer’s Body ), actor Emily Deschanel ( Bones) and self-described “actor, host, nerd” Clark Wolfe ( Satanic Panic) , will be made available to non-members on Apple Podcasts and other platforms, where subsequent episodes will be released twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays.
