Here are some of the horror DVD/Blu-Ray releases for March 26th!

The terrifying tale by Stephen King is also a beloved adaptation of the best-selling author’s work. Newly remastered in 4K for its 30th Anniversary, Pet Sematary, follows the tragic story of the Creed family. After their cat is accidentally killed, a friendly neighbor advises its burial in a mysterious nearby cemetery. When the cat comes back, it’s only the beginning of an unthinkable evil leading to hell and back. Sometimes, so it seems, dead is better.

Midnight, Texas scares up more thrills and chills in the steamy second season of the supernatural drama based on the best-selling book series by Charlaine Harris (the author behind True Blood). Home to psychics, vampires, witches and other outcasts, the remote town of Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those seeking refuge from the outside world. As the town members’ bond is stronger than ever, the mysterious arrival of new hotel owners threatens the balance of Midnight.

Screen icon Boris Karloff plays the title role in the Val Lewton adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s The Body Snatcher, directed with subtle calculation by versatile Robert Wise (West Side Story, The Sound of Music). A doctor (Henry Daniell, The Four Skulls of Jonathan Drake) needs cadavers for medical studies and Karloff is willing to provide them … one way or another. The film also features a wonderful supporting performance by fellow horror icon Bela Lugosi.

In Larraz s debut feature, the hitherto ultra-rare Whirlpool (1970), Vivian Neves stars as Tulia, a young model invited to a photographer s secluded country home for what purports to be a quiet weekend retreat – but soon transpires to be anything but. 1974 s Vampyres – perhaps the best known and most widely-released of all José Larraz s films – sees a duo of blood hungry female vampires prowling the British countryside, from where they lure unsuspecting male motorists back to their imposing, dilapidated mansion for draining… in more ways than one. Meanwhile, in 1978 s The Coming of Sin (La Visita del Vicio, in its native Spanish), a young gypsy girl experiences a violent sexual awakening as her dreams of a naked young man on horseback become reality.

After being tricked into having an abortion at Big Mama’s underground abortion clinic / brothel, a young woman’s extracted fetus is flushed into the sewer system wherein it’s exposed to toxic waste and begins to mutate into an ever growing and increasingly bloodthirsty monster. Young David Masters drowns his mother’s cat Sheba in its milk, claiming she loves it more than he, one of many such Shebas he has killed. As a grown man, he returns home with his wife Janie and their newborn child. His mother swears vengeance on him, promising to toy with him as Sheba would have played with a mouse. Soon after, his mother’s latest Sheba suffocates the baby under a pillow. Janie has a nervous breakdown. And then his mother brings in a French nurse to seduce David away from Janie.
