The 2nd Annual PromoteHorror.com SFX Horror Makeup Contest resulted in 7 artists winning “Featured Promotions” on our site. One of those talented winners is Caity Jade Taylor, who claimed 3rd place, and also won a Ben Nye MagiCake Illusion Palette courtesy of Norcostco, and is automatically on the list for the AHCA Contest from Creators Unite Magazine.
“My name is Caity Jade Taylor. I have been submerged in horror & FX since childhood, helping my father build haunts & working at his costume and mask shop as a young girl. After pursuing beauty makeup as a career in 2014, I realized that I could combine my love for horror and makeup through SFX. I went back to school at the Makeup Designory in NYC in 2018 to study FX makeup where I discovered my passion for “injury FX” and have been building a career in film since. Rich Krusell, Paul J. Mason, and Anthony Giordano have been mentors and inspirations to whom I am massively grateful.
I just wrapped my first feature length indie horror film as the key FX artist and head of department, a film by MiLa Dark Productions and am now preparing for Halloween!”
