Shudder Launches Official Blog

Shudder Launches Behind-the-Scenes Blog; Expands Weekly Horror Newsletter THE BITE

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thriller and supernatural programming, today launched the Shudder Blog, a place where members and non-members alike can find the latest information about new and upcoming releases, hear directly from Shudder filmmakers, and browse Shudder’s weekly curated horror email newsletter, The Bite, which will be available online for the first time.

“Friday the 13th seemed like the perfect day to launch our new home for all things Shudder,” said Craig Engler, GM of Shudder. “It’s a place where we can talk to Shudder fans, invite them behind the scenes, and tell them about the things coming up that most excite us. We’re also expanding our popular email newsletter The Bite onto the Web, which is the number one request we’ve gotten from readers.”

The Bite, Shudder’s curated, weekly look at the world of horror, offers a round-up of insightful news and horror links, must-see images and cool items, all topped by an original take on an essential or overlooked subject from horror history. Recent issues have featured Mallory O’Meara (author of The Lady from the Black Lagoon) on the legacy of Lon Chaney Jr., C. Robert Cargill (co-screenwriter of Marvel’s Doctor Strange) paying tribute to Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners, and horror author Brian Keene on George A. Romero’s underappreciated Land of the Dead. The Bite is edited by Ariel Fisher.

The Shudder Blog will also feature movie recommendations from Shudder curator Sam Zimmerman, sneak peeks of upcoming Shudder movies and series, and more. The blog and The Bite are both available starting today at http://www.shudder.com/blog.

Free email subscriptions to The Bite are available try.shudder.com/thebite.
