SHORT & FEATURE FILM SUBMISSIONS OPEN, BADGES ON SALE!
Festival returns October 15th – 22nd, 2020
The Brooklyn Horror Film Festival will return in 2020 for its fifth edition and run for another full eight days from October 15th to the 22nd in venues in Brooklyn, NY. Since 2016, when the festival was launched, it has continued to expand and offer an unparalleled horror-centric event, with New York Magazine calling it “One of the country’s premier indie horror showcases” and Birth.Movies.Death. hailing it as “A can’t-miss fall event for horror and film fans alike.”
Submissions are now open via FilmFreeway for short and feature films, and badges are on sale on the official website, making for the perfect stocking stuffer! The 2019 edition featured the most filmmakers in attendance for any year so far, including Phil “CM Punk” Brooks, Trieste Kelly Dunn and writer-director Travis Stevens for the New York Premiere of The Girl on the Third Floor; director Joe Begos, composer Steve Moore and stars Stephen Lang, Tom Williamson and Linnea Wilson for the NY Premiere of the FANGORIA-backed VFW; and director/co-writer Adam Egypt Mortimer along with star Miles Robbins for BHFF’s Centerpiece film, Daniel Isn’t Real.
BHFF will once again partner with Nitehawk Cinema as a primary screening venue, providing the best possible HQ for the borough’s dynamic and passionate cinephile crowd. Year-round local screenings and events are on the horizon in 2020 for fans of our brand of programming, promising to make this coming year the festival’s most expansive and engaging yet.
Staffing announcements for the new edition include Senior Programmer Matt Barone, who has been promoted to Director of Programming, and the addition of Annie Woller as Program Coordinator and Jesse Swenson as Development Coordinator to the team.
