Here are some of the horror DVD/Blu-Ray releases for March 17th!

Glenn Danzig’s directorial debut, is a horror anthology that compiles stories from Danzig’s line of comic books of the same name. Stories which focus on horror content that’s often violent in nature, usually featuring scantily-clad female protagonists.

From the producer of Get Out and Halloween, comes a timely take on a cult horror classic as a campus killer comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood. Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one. As the body count rises, the sisters start to question whether they can trust any man. Whoever the killer is, he’s about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t about to be anybody’s victims.

This collection includes such horror stars as Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Lionel Atwill, and Rondo Hatton. Boris Karloff ignites the screen as an inventor who is kidnapped by a gang of burglars and forced to help them commit robberies in Night Key. Bela Lugosi stars in a creepy tale of strange characters, secret passages and a murderer who masters the art of “mind over matter” in Night Monster. In The Climax, Karloff is terrifying as a mad doctor whose insane jealousy over a beautiful opera singer may drive him to murder. A giant of a man is used as an instrument of evil by a mad sculptor in House of Horrors.

A spacecraft crash-lands in an isolated desert town and releases an insidious parasite that attacks the brains of all creatures making them disorientated, unnaturally strong and violent. Long-time local cop, Sergeant Joanne Sharp, yearning for city life, is determined to take her feisty younger sister Samantha and eight-year old son Simon back to the city with her. One morning she wakes to find the town without communication and, venturing into town with her police partner Luke Dawson, realises the unexpected events are just harbingers of the horror to come. The virus is random and seemingly impossible to control. With the town now isolated from the outside worldwide by sources unknown, they eventually team up with the Alien, who mysteriously appears around town to try to destroy the remnants of his mistake. While Joanne, Luke and the towns’ people fight to save their town they realise the Alien, in its determination to destroy the virus, will kill any humans that get in the way.

A flashback opening shows us the bloody murder of a woman by her identical twin sister. This has something to do w/ the odd, whispering mirror in the room! Fast forward to recent days, and MIRROR MIRROR begins. A woman named Emelin (Yvonne De Carlo) runs across the dreaded mirror, while cleaning out the house for sale. She has it moved to her antique shop. Enter Susan Gordon (Karen Black- TRILOGY OF TERROR) and her daughter Megan (Rainbow Harvest), the new owners of the house, and the mirror, which has mysteriously returned! Megan attends her new high school, where her goth look gains… attention. Alas, she just doesn’t fit in. Luckily, student Nikki Chandler (Kristin Datillo) befriends Megan. Meanwhile, Emelin reads up on the mirror’s strange history in an old diary. When their dog is found dead in front of the mirror, Susan and Megan have no idea what lies ahead for them! Back at school, poor Megan feels the cruel bite of exclusion and humiliation. Oh my stars! The mirror starts oozing blood, causing icky problems for Megan’s tormentors! When one of her teachers drops dead, Megan returns home to seal her pact w/ the demonic looking-glass. Horror and death ensue, and Megan’s high school experience improves by attrition. Can anything stop her vengeful rampage?

An evil mirror that caused many deaths inside an orphanage has been hidden for years. When a rock band puts on a show nearby and uncovers the deadly mirror, the band members are tortured by the device’s demonic powers. Teenage orphan Marlee (Tracy Wells) is glad, because the men were tormenting her brother Jeffrey (Carlton Beener). Now in complete control of the mirror, Marlee decides to use it on her nasty stepsister Roslyn (Sally Kellerman).

Never corner a baker. Jens (Mikkel Vadsholt) has accepted far too much for too long. Being the shy night-owl he is, he keeps to himself, but the world will not let him be. The new master baker’s quality starts slackening, and when a bunch of yobs one day smash the window of Jens’s car, he takes one of them out with a tire iron. Intoxicated by his own new unexpressed vigour, Jens comes out of his shell, but the destructive driving force leads him towards a free fall… David Noel Bourke has consistently worked from making underground genre films to stylish arthouse works, culminating in this disturbing Danish counterpart to ‘Falling Down’. Headed by the always solid Mikkel Vadsholt (The Sunfish), who here manages to arouse our empathy in a role of a reserved man who has difficulty coping with the light of day. Sometimes, you have to turn to crime. Sometimes, it turns on you… Darren, Lou, Jo and Mas live a meagre existence on the fringes of poverty. Indebted to the criminal kingpin of their social housing development, they routinely fear for their lives. On the other side of town, the already wealthy Marcus and his disabled brother Clive receive a windfall in the form of a winning lottery ticket. When their worlds collide following a botched robbery, the would-be criminals get more than they bargained for, and will be tested to their limits in a desperate attempt to survive a predator of monstrous proportions.
