AS AN OLD MEMORY

SMALL TOWNS HAVE LONG MEMORIES…

The 1956 Homecoming Massacre shook the residents of Pinehurst to their very core, and it left survivor, Charlotte McAdams, broken for life. Forty years later, the McAdams family have become the victims of many strange happenings that seem to revolve around the fateful night of the massacre. As the anniversary draws nearer, so does the rope around the family threatening to destroy them all.

“This was a great story in a number of ways. It’s somewhat Southern Gothic, with a ghost story, and witchcraft mixed in to make for a compelling read with plenty of excitement and creep factor. And, the characters, even the evil ones are written believably and at times that makes it hard to read but I think it was handled well.”

“Without giving away any spoilers, all I can say is that I loved this book from start to finish. If you are a horror fan, then you will enjoy this book. It’s fresh, smart and well written. Unlike many horror stories, this had an intelligence to it that gave it a strong back bone for the more finicky reader. A very solid ghost story which incorporates, witches, racism, family tragedy, mental illness and a ton of creepiness. Can’t ask for much more in a horror novel. I applaud you Mr. Kerry, very well done!”

“This was a great read. It was creepy and well-written. I really liked how it had a little bit of everything in there and lots of ghosts. If you like horror I would definitely read this book.”

“Really enjoyed this wonderful story. It kept me hooked from the very beginning to the surprising conclusion! I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting. Love the paranormal suspense in it and look forward to reading all the other works from this awesome author.”

“Alternating between the two timelines, Kerry weaves in historical details, eerie imagery, and some true scares. Though there’s a supernatural element, the real horror lies in Kerry’s dynamic characters—the traumatized Charlotte, unrepentant Sim, and Sim’s beleaguered son, Alan—reckoning with the senseless violence in their family history. Fans of intricate historical fiction and horror will enjoy this taut, powerful story.”

From author Vic Kerry: “If you like ghosts and 90s nostalgia, As an Old Memory is a read you’ll enjoy.”

And once you finish that story you’re going to want to give this one a try…

In a small Southern town, a father desperate to find his prodigal daughter will meet a man driven by an insatiable lust to kill and three cash-strapped old maids with something to hide. Welcome to Jubilee, Alabama, where death comes to stay for a spell.

“Brutal and honest, ‘Jubilee’ is depraved in the best possible ways. It’s every father’s nightmare.” — Scott A. Johnson, author of ‘Shy Grove: A Ghost Story’

“A thriller that simmers to a satisfying, explosive boil!”
– Russell James, author of ‘The Playing Card Killer’

“Don’t start this book unless you have a little time on your hands, because I wasn’t able to put it down and finished it over the course of a couple of days. There’s twists and turns aplenty, characters painted in shades ranging from gray to coal-black, and dark humor for all us twisted souls out there. Also, you may never look at peppermints the same way again. You’ve been warned.”
