PH: You’re a man of many talents, Jeffrey. Do you consider yourself an actor, writer or filmmaker first?

Jeff: I would say a filmmaker that is where my love truly lies in the shooting, editing, and vfx side

PH: Was it always the goal, from a young age, to be a filmmaker?

Jeff: I always wanted to be in film. I took a break from college and never went back. I travelled with a circus for 20 years and after that I really knew it was my time to start this journey. Film was always my first love but I would not trade that time with the circus for anything there are so many similarities between circus life and film the circus really prepared me for film.

PH: Did you have to work a ‘day job’ along the way?

Jeff: Oh yes as an indie guy a lot of it is self-funding and that almost always comes from you.

PH: What was your first film? How would you say you’ve improved since then as a filmmaker?

Jeff: Lake Noir was my first film. The quality of the film and post production I would say I have grown most as an editor and also understanding how to communicate.

PH: Where did the inspiration for ‘Evil Under the Skin’ come from?

Jeff: Luc Bernier wrote the script and really wanted to do a slow burn film that had a very unique feel.

PH: For those reading that want to get out there and make a horror movie, what advice would you give them?

Jeff: Get on a set, get experience, reach out to cable access stations they are publicly funded and they will show you how to do most everything for very little money. The Bottom line is if you want to you will. You can use a cell phone, watch YouTube tutorials. You CAN be a filmmaker just get out there and get your feet wet.
