Distributor continues scaling its portfolio with the addition of
nearly 400 hours to its rapidly expanding TheArchive Channel

Multicom Entertainment Group continues to acquire content at a breakneck pace. This past week the content owner and distributor picked up close to 400 hours of content that will be restored to its original quality and made available on Multicom’s live and on demand channel, TheArchive.

From multiple Academy Award winning producer Arthur Cohn, Multicom will be restoring some notable feature films to 4K UHD. Dangerous Moves, directed by Richard Dembo, was released in 1985 and went on to receive a Golden Globe nomination and win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Black and White in Color, directed by legendary auteur Jean-Jacques Annaud was the 1977 Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language film. Sky Above, Mud Below, directed by Pierre-Dominique Gaisseau won the 1962 Oscar for Best Documentary. The Yellow Star, a 1981 Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary. White Lies, Directed by Ken Selden, starred Rosanna Arquette, Jared Harris (Chernobyl), Harvey Fierstein (Mrs. Doubtfire), and Terry Kinney (Billions, Oz, Good Behavior).

“As we continue acquiring high quality content for TheArchive to meet the demands of our growing audience,” says Multicom COO and former Netflix Acquisition executive Bryan Crocker, “it is key to keep our live and on demand channel streaming the very best in rare, retro, and 4K UHD restored movies and series. Adding more Academy Award winning films to our streaming service rounds out those ambitions and serves eclectic and exciting options to our viewers.”

Adds Multicom President, Darrin Holender, “The Arthur Cohn library is yet another example of how Multicom’s deep and growing relationships with producers of high-quality content contribute to both our distribution pipelines with partners like Pluto, Tubi, Roku, and Xumo, while also bolstering our flagship channel TheArchive.”

Multicom has also purchased the Stellis Media library, with dozens of series from producer Ralph C. Ellis, including scripted and unscripted broadcast titles Adventures in Rainbow Country, Matt and Jenny, To the Wild Country, Profiles of Nature (often referred to as the longest running primetime program on the Discovery Channel), and Buck Staghorn’s Animal Bites, which aired on networks such as Animal Planet, Discovery, History Channel, and the CBC.

Multicom continues to focus on delivering timeless premium film and television content from leading creators and owners into the booming live and on-demand OTT marketplace. “Multicom has successfully leveraged our vast library to create a direct to consumer brand in TheArchive, which is proving to be a popular destination for fans of story, craft, and globally recognized stars,” says Darrin Holender, President of Multicom. “TheArchive streams evergreen programming, refreshed often, with many titles in restored 4K UHD, which is a real hit among TheArchive audience and platform partners like Roku, Amazon Fire and other major CTV and OTT companies.”
