Vacationing on an island off the coast of Thailand, Christine (Maggie Q) and Neil Oliver (Luke Hemsworth) awake hungover and with no memory of the previous night. They find footage on Neil’s camera, and watch, horrified, as Neil appears to murder Christine. With twenty-four hours until the next ferry and a typhoon threatening the island, Christine and Neil attempt to reconstruct the night’s events—and are snared in a web of mystery, black magic, and murder.

In support of the movie release, we got a chance to first talk with “Death of Me” director Darren Lynn Bousman, and actress Alex Essoe. Both talk about how they got involved with the film, shooting in Thailand, working with Maggie Q, and more. Here are a couple of quotes from the interviews, but please take a listen to both interviews in the video below…

-PH: How does piecing this puzzle together compared to some of your other films. Does it ever get any easier?

-Darren: …Making this movie in a lot of respects was harder than some of my other films. Dealing with the language barrier is intense. Dealing with kind of mirroring the story of what happens in that movie. I was a stranger in a strange land, and trying to figure out the culture…

-PH: What do you think fans will like about the movie, and what should they expect from it?

-Alex: …I really like the statement it makes on cults, and cult mentality. Again that’s really interesting to me. And they should expect some crazy visuals because it’s a very visually rich film…
