Shriekfest Film Festival to Screen Sci-Fi Thriller The Shift
The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 5
The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2017 finalists and is slated to screen science fiction-based feature The Shift.
In the film, recent college graduates joyride in a stolen cop car only to uncover a secret that will doom mankind.
In addition to The Shift and nine other feature films, Shriekfest will also screen more than 30 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.
The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 5 – 8, 2017. The public is invited to an opening night party at Boardners/Club Sinister in Hollywood; all are also welcome to attend the screenings at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Ave.
Shriekfest, now in its 17th year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Shriekfest is bi-coastal this year as well, with Shriekfest Orlando kicking off on October 21.
Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
