The book is called “Behind the Screams: A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 Revealed,” and it contains tales from the making of the film that have never been shared with the public. It’s being co-written by author Blake Best and Mick Strawn, who was production designer on Nightmares 3-5, as well as the “Freddy’s Nightmares” TV series. They’re planning to release it in August, to coincide with the thirtieth anniversary of the film.
Blake and Mick have been guests at several horror conventions around the country and made their announcement about the book right before Christmas. It has gone viral on social media including Facebook, and as a result copies of Blake’s first book “The Within” and the Freddy Krueger origin novel “Razor’s Edge” are selling for over $2,000 a copy. Both of them were inducted into the Hall of Horror in Las Vegas in October of 2016 for their contributions to the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” mythology.
