Shriekfest Film Festival to Screen Los Angeles Premiere of Killer Kate!
The annual Los Angeles competition will kick off with an opening night gala October 4
The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2018 finalists and will close the festival with Elliot Feld’s Killer Kate! An awards show will follow the film.
The film, written by Daniel Moya and Elliot Feld (who also directs), follows a woman (Alexandra Feld) attending her estranged sister’s bachelorette party at the request of their dying father. The weekend, held at a remote cabin booked on a home-sharing app, turns into a savage life-or-death struggle that pits family against family, and past against present.
More information and the trailer can be found on the Shriekfest website.
In addition to Killer Kate! and nine other feature films, Shriekfest will also screen more than 30 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. See the schedule: https://www.shriekfest.com/schedule/los-angeles/.
The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 4 – 7, 2018. The public is invited to an opening night party at Boardners/Club Sinister in Hollywood; all are also welcome to attend the screenings at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Ave.
Shriekfest, now in its 18th year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Shriekfest is bi-coastal for a second year as well, with Shriekfest Orlando kicking off on November 3.
Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
