But the night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realization that some nightmares are real. Horror connoisseurs will sweat, squirm, and relish every splatterific minute of it.

She begins her work as a private nurse to an old man who’s an appraiser of rare antiquities with a secretive past. In this dark, stylish thriller set in a hellish vision of our world where the air crackles with impending death, a comic book obsessed serial killer clashes with a straight edge purist over a young boy’s fate. Riveting in a gut-twisting way and holding unnerving, devastating nihilistic power, ARTIK shares a harrowingly bleak vision that will haunt you and make your flesh slick with fear. Starring horror favorites Chase Williamson (from Popcorn Frights’ Beyond the Gates and Sequence Break), Jerry G. Angelo (Fright Night), Matt Mercer (from Popcorn Frights 2019 film Bliss), and Lauren Ashley Carter (from Popcorn Frights 2016 film The Mind’s Eye).

THE DARE (U.K., U.S., Bulgaria)
Featuring the attendance of director Giles Alderson and writer Jonny Grant
Why see THE DARE? Because it has teeth and it cuts to the bone! A young man is jolted back to consciousness as he awakens to find himself chained inside a dark torture chamber. There is someone else in the room. Three other chained victims, abducted strangers, who are forced to piece together the clues created by the deranged captor that has brought them together to engage in a twisted battle to solve a puzzle to their past…or die a gruesome death. How far would you go to survive! Like James Wan’s Saw and Dario Argento’s inventively nasty gialli, The Dare fuses an intricate thriller plot with gruesome horror sensibility. The former sucks you in, the latter chews you up and spits you out.
Preceded by the short film: THE DESECRATED (Directed by John Gray): A young morgue attendant encounters an unwelcome visitor. South Florida Premiere!

PARADISE HILLS (Spain)
Director: Alice Waddington
Barbarella meets The Handmaid’s Tale in this lavish and dazzling dystopic nightmare starring Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians), Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), and Eiza González (Baby Driver). When a young girl wakes up alone on a strange island called Paradise, she instantly suspects it’s anything but. Helmed by the Duchess, Paradise Hills is a center for emotional healing that at its core serves as a reformatory-style boarding school for privileged young women. Yet behind the rose-covered pathways and fairy-tale decor, there is something more sinister at work. Written by Spanish-born Alice Waddington (Popcorn Frights 2015 Disco Inferno), Nacho Vigalando (Time Crimes), and Brian Deeleuw (Popcorn Frights 2019 Daniel Isn’t Real), PARADISE HILLS is a spectacular cautionary fable anchored in a profound understanding of the darkest corners of human nature.
Preceded by the film HOW TO BE ALONE (Directed by Kate Trefry): Part psychological thriller, part horror comedy, Stranger Things writer Kate Trefry’s totally clever film features It Follows star Maika Monroe as a woman whose deepest fears seem to manifest physically when her husband (Joe Keery) leaves for the night shift. Florida Premiere!
