Blood House Films Acquires Indie Horror-Comedy “A Comedy of Horrors, Volume 1”
A Bloody Good Matchup
Still riding the wave of their festival darling feature, “The Night Watchmen,” (featured in Hulu’s “Huluween” lineup and streaming on Paramount+) creators Ken Arnold (Swagger) and Dan DeLuca (The Wire) have teamed up with Matt Servitto (The Sopranos) to deliver another unexpected horror-comedy.
Under the trio’s new banner, Non-Nomen Films, their follow up horror-comedy feature, “A Comedy of Horrors, Volume 1,” has been acquired for distribution by Blood House Films, a division of Glass House Distribution.
“We felt A Comedy of Horrors has everything fans want…some shocks, some scares, and lots of laughs,” said Tom Malloy, President and Co-Founder of Glass House Distribution.
“It’s a bloody good matchup,” said founding partner Ken Arnold of the deal between Non-Nomen and Blood House. “We’re made for each other. Lots of blood, lots of laughs, and both focusing on extremely high production value.”
“A Comedy of Horrors, Volume 1” has blasted out of the gates on its festival run with a Best Horror Feature award at the 2021 Garden State Film Festival, the Jury Award at Orlando’s Freak Show Horror Film Festival, and selections to the Phoenix Film Festival’s International Sci-Fi and Horror Film Festival and the New Jersey Horror Con & Film Festival.
The horror-comedy anthology was shot primarily in Maryland in the Fall of 2019, with one segment shot in Atlanta, Georgia. It was one of the first productions to take advantage of a new tax credit program provided by the Maryland Film Office for the purpose of fostering independent filmmaking in the state of Maryland.
A Comedy of Horrors, Vol. 1 is a goofy and self-aware horror comedy anthology that is sure to bring the laughs. It’s the kind of film best enjoyed if you go in knowing it is entirely meant to be fun! – Molly Henery, TheBloggingBanshee.com
This is simply a real fun way to spend 90 minutes in a movie theater. Each segment of this anthology has its own unique mood, blending the silly with violence and gore into a special cocktail that easily makes you forget about the time flying by. – TheCodaFilms.com
