Look, how could I not apply my SpaceBrains3D stereoscopic conversion process to the classic horror film WHITE ZOMBIE?
It’s got tons of atmosphere, courtesy of the producers relying heavily on the standing sets of Universal Studios (making Haiti a tad more gothic than it probably ever was). It’s got Bela Lugosi at his charismatic best as the sinister voodoo master “Murder” Legendre. And it’s got lots of Victorian melodrama in the tale of a lustful Legendre wresting a beautiful, virginal woman (Madge Bellamy) away from her feckless fiancé (John Harron), a fatuous plantation owner (Robert Frazer), and a nicotine-addicted missionary (Joseph Cawthorn), all by means of voodoo dolls, mind control, and a potion that turns its victims into living corpses. There’s a grossly obese buzzard, lots of florid dialogue, and menacing zombies everywhere (even though one bears an odd resemblance to Curly Howard). It’s all stuff that becomes even more wonderfully creepy through the retro-dimensional influence of SpaceBrains3D.
WHITE ZOMBIE 3D marks year two of SpaceBrains3D offerings. Using upgraded hardware and software, the hybrid manual/AI system now delivers improved, immersive dimensionality in full 1080p video. It sets the stage for year in which – in addition to adding to my Etsy store releases – I hope to expand SpaceBrains3D’s reach to new partnerships, and additional distribution vectors. And then, after lunch…
