Blood Drenched Horror THE WELL Goes Digital in USA + Canada

Federico Zampaglione’s sensational horror THE WELL starring Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2) is set to terrify USA and Canada following its digital release on September 3rd.

Compared to Eli Roth’s Hostel, THE WELL is set in a remote Italian village, where a young American art restorer is hired by a mysterious duchess to bring a medieval painting back to its former glory. Little does she know she has fallen prey to a cabal of evil witches who drink the blood of tourists to achieve eternal life.

Following its world premiere at Sitges and its US premiere at Screamfest, THE WELL became a buzz title on the festival circuit due to its terrific creature designs, inventive kills and extreme gore effects. During its theatrical release in Italy, where it took the box office by storm, cinemas provided vomit bags to reduce the time it took to clean-up between screenings.

“Blood is splattered liberally,
innards are torn out,
and every slash and hack
feels more brutal than the last”
– The Geek Show

Scream queen Lauren LaVera, who plays final girl in Damien Leone’s Terrifier 2 was chosen to star in THE WELL because of her resemblence to 80’s actress Jessica Harper who starred in Dario Argento’s cult classic Suspiria. With his previous films Shadow, Tulpa and now THE WELL, Zampagleone continues to carry the torch for Italian horror into the 21st century.

“The frights are plentiful in this gruesome,
gleeful throwback to the Italian film sector’s heyday
as the prime purveyor of Europe’s grisliest B-pics”
– Screen-Space

Comparisons with Terrifier 2 don’t end with Lauren LaVera because Italian fan art has already predicted a killer-clown showdown between Art and Arudda, the brutal clown-like character from THE WELL who dismembers American tourists.

“Up-and-coming scream queen Lauren LaVera,
who garnered widespread recognition with Terrifier 2,
is further proving her brilliance in The Well.”
– Film Factual

THE WELL is now available to stream and download in US and Canada from Amazon, Apple, Googleplay, Microsoft, YouTube, Fandango, Spectrum.
