BRITTANY O’GRADY JOINS TEMPLE HILL’S HIGH-CONCEPT HORROR ‘MONITOR’ AS CAMERAS GET READY TO ROLL IN MARCH

Protagonist Pictures Announces a Slew of International Deals ahead of the European Film Market

Brittany O’Grady (“The White Lotus,” It’s What’s Inside) is set to join Temple Hill Entertainment’s high-concept horror film Monitor, it was announced today. Written and directed by Matt Black and Ryan Polly, cameras will roll on the chiller beginning March 10 on location in Barcelona and the Canary Islands. Cinematographer Philip Lozano (The Nun II, The Transporter), Production Designer Núria Guardia (Bird Box: Barcelona; Nextflix’s “The Crown”) and Editor Guillermo de la Cal (The Orphanage, Sleep Tight) round out the crew ahead of shooting.

Launched at AFM 2024, the project immediately secured top distributors out of the market and moved swiftly into production. Monitor marks the third collaboration between Protagonist Pictures and Temple Hill, which began with Clown in a Cornfield, the award-winning book to film adaptation scheduled for a wide U.S. theatrical release on May 9th 2025.

Elevation took rights for Canada, Capelight for Germany and Austria, Le Pacte for France, Sun for both Spain and LatAm, and Spentzos for Greece. Plaion came on board for Italy, NOS Audiovisuais for Portugal, MisLabel for Scandinavia, Monolith for Eastern Europe, Red Cape for Israel, Front Row for the Middle East and Fabula for Turkey.

Monitor is produced by Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and John Fischer, the team behind the critically acclaimed box office megahits Smile and Smile 2, The Twilight Saga and The Maze Runner Trilogy, and Adrián Guerra (Buried) for Nostromo Pictures. Protagonist’s Dave Bishop and George Hamilton serve as executive producers. Protagonist Pictures is continuing international sales on the film at the upcoming EFM.

When a group of social media moderators refuse to publish a horrifying video, a demonic creature starts following them across every screen in their lives. Feeding off fear, the creature hunts them down one by one and attacks until it gets what it wants… to be let out beyond the screen.

Brittany O’Grady is best known for the HBO’s hit dark comedy series, “The White Lotus.” Most recently she starred in Netflix’s comedy-thriller It’s What’s Inside. Other notable credits include “The Consultant” on Amazon Prime alongside Christoph Waltz, and Apple TV+’s “Little Voice.”
