It’s Monday morning in corporate America. The usual small talk begins— “How was your weekend?”—but what if that simple question unraveled everything?
Premiering at SXSW in the Narrative Shorts Program 1 on March 8th at 11:00 AM CT, HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND? blends dark comedy and surreal horror to explore the anxieties of office life and the unspoken rules that hold it together. Starring James Morosini (I Love My Dad) and Rachael Harris (Suits, The Hangover), the film taps into the unease of returning to office culture, the personas we adopt at work, and what happens when personal struggles seep into the professional world.
With a strong SXSW pedigree, the team behind How Was Your Weekend? includes:
- James Morosini, returning to SXSW after his film I Love My Dad won both the Audience Award and Grand Jury Award in 2022.
- Rachael Harris, who won SXSW’s Breakthrough Performance award in 2011 for Natural Selection.
- Matt Clegg (Director of Photography), with two projects at SXSW this year (HWYW and The Python Hunt), and whose last feature Bad Shabbos won the Audience Award at Tribeca 2024.
- Taylor Gianotas (Editor), also with two shorts at SXSW this year, and known for editing Greener Grass (SXSW, Sundance, Locarno 2019).
- Zach Robinson (Composer), an Emmy-winning composer (Weird: The Al Yankovic Story) experimenting in horror for the first time.
