September Screenings and Discussions To Be Held in Manhattan and Brooklyn
The New York Science Fiction Film Festival has announced its fifth annual program, with a lineup of independent movies and post-film discussions. Screenings are slated for September 19-20 in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and passes are available at https://www.newyorksci-fifest.com.
As a lifelong admirer of science fiction, Daniel Abella established the festival to highlight the crucial lessons of the genre. “With AI, genetic manipulation, simulation theory, and UFOs, we are living in the middle of a sci-fi reality,” he said. “Sci-fi warns us of the unbridled consequences of embracing certain mindsets and technologies.” By presenting a diverse range of perspectives, the festival hopes attendees walk away with solutions for what’s to come. “Sci-fi is the science of the future. It unleashes imagination, curiosity, and a sense of wonder. There is no end to the power of humanity.”
