Independent filmmaker Joe Grisaffi is developing his fifth feature film, SLUGGER, a baseball-themed horror film set to launch on Kickstarter March 17, 2026.
Best known for indie genre films including Conjoined, Dead of Knight, and Lars the Emo Kid, Grisaffi continues his focus on character-driven horror with a concept that fuses America’s pastime with escalating psychological terror.
SLUGGER follows Jim Brewster, a rising minor league pitcher on the verge of his big break. With a crucial game ahead against his rival Casey Robinson—the league’s most dangerous power hitter—Jim knows everything is on the line. Determined to secure victory, his friends put a plan into motion that spirals into horrifying consequences.
The screenplay is written by Emilio Iasiello, author of several novels including Attrition and The Girl Behind the Glass, who previously collaborated with Grisaffi on Dead of Knight.
