Synopsis
After surviving a terrible accident, renowned micro painter Alif returns home with fractured memories. When an elderly woman appears claiming to be his mother, Alif embarks on a search for the truth uncovering a haunting legacy inspired by the legend of Malin Kundang.
About the Directors
Kevin Rahardjo is an Indonesian filmmaker based in Jakarta. His graduation short ‘Accidentally Intentional’ (2023) premiered at the Palm Springs International ShortFest 2023 and competed at the Red Sea, Nashville and Alternativa. His feature film project
‘Parasomnia’ won the NAFF Award at BIFAN It Project 2023 and was selected at Brussels Genre Market 2024 and Autumn Meeting 2024. He is the co-writer of folk-horror project ‘Maiden Home’ which won the VIPO Award at BIFAN It Project 2023 and was selected at Talents Tokyo 2023 and Brussels Fantastic Pitchbox 2024. His latest short film ‘In the Name of Love I Will Punish You’ premiered at Fantasia 2024.
Rafki Hidayat wrote several feature films in Indonesia including ‘Kafir: A Deal With The Devil’ (2018), ‘Makmum 2’ (2021), and Bumilangit’s superhero film ‘Virgo & the Sparklings’ (2023). Recently he wrote 2 episodes of the Netflix original anthology series ‘Joko Anwar’s Nightmares and Daydreams’ (2024). ‘Parasomnia’, his feature project has won the NAFF Award at BIFAN It Project 2023 and was selected at Brussels Genre Market 2024 and Autumn Meeting 2024.
