THE PREMISE
Told from Myrna Ivester’s first-person perspective, she recants her journey from an unfulfilled woman to her encounter in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom with an ancient, reclusive vampire named Ileana Vladislava, who turns her into a vampire to cure her own loneliness.

SYNOPSIS
After fleeing from a vampire witch hunt in Transylvania hundreds of years earlier, vampire Ileana Vladislava lives out a lonely existence in Wightwick Hall, a castle in the Jesmond Dene area of Newcastle upon Tyne, a city in Tyne and Wear, England. Still bearing the scars of her past, she avoids relationships with people and feeds on the blood of wild animals.

Myrna Ivester spends a lot of time questioning her feelings and what she really wants. When Ileana sees Myrna at the Newcastle City Library, she feels it is her destiny to be a vampire. Ileana appears at Myrna’s home, places her in a deep hypnotic trance, and sinks her fangs into her. Subsequently, Myrna reflects on the deepest meaning of her life in her transformation into something supernatural as she develops a relationship with Ileana.

Told with wit and sentiment, this story provocatively explores the mysteries and complexities of the vampire world keeping its fangs in you until the very last sentence.
