The 11th annual Portland Horror Film Festival (PHFF) is rolling out the red carpet to host some of the coolest names in horror, including director George Mihalka, musician and filmmaker Aurelio Voltaire, actress and producer Krsy Fox, musician and director Spider One, Frogman creator Anthony Cousins, directors Chelsea Stardust, Brea Grant, Ed Dougherty, and Rue Morgue’s Andrea Subissati. The five-day celebration of independent and international horror cinema runs from June 3-7, 2026, at Portland’s Hollywood Theatre and Clinton Street Theater.
PHFF is Portland’s go-to festival for all things horror, showcasing over 24 hours of feature films, short films, special events, and streaming exclusives.
Spotlight on Attending Guests:
We’re bringing in some major talent from classic, indie, and contemporary horror:
• George Mihalka: The man who directed the original 1981 slasher classic My Bloody Valentine. He’s coming in person for a special 45th Anniversary screening of the film.
• Aurelio Voltaire: The renowned dark cabaret musician, animator, and director, best known for writing the song “Brains!” for Cartoon Network’s The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. He’ll perform a live set and screen his film, The Demonatrix, which he co-directed with Jeff Ferrell.
• Krsy Fox & Spider One: Fox is a familiar face in horror (Terrifier 3, Underworld Evolution). Spider One is the frontman of POWERMAN 5000 and the director/writer behind OneFox Productions. They’ll be presenting their latest feature, Big Baby.
• Andrea Subissati: Executive Editor of Rue Morgue magazine and co-host of the “Faculty of Horror” podcast, she’ll be joining George Mihalka for a Q&A about My Bloody Valentine.
• Chelsea Stardust: Director of the celebrated horror-comedy Satanic Panic and the Blumhouse feature All That We Destroy. She is an alum of PHFF and will be attending the PNW Premiere of Grind.
• Brea Grant & Ed Dougherty: Grant is an award-winning filmmaker known for directing 12 HOUR SHIFT and TORN HEARTS, and writing/starring in LUCKY. Dougherty co-wrote GRIND and SCRAPPER and co-directed segments of GRIND. They are attending the film’s PNW Premiere.
• Anthony Cousins: The American horror filmmaker who created the cult hit cryptid feature Frogman. He’s attending the festival for the screening of his sequel, Frogman Returns.
Feature Film Highlights:
The 2026 lineup is packed with everything from slashers and supernatural thrillers to horror comedies. These highlights are in addition to a varied and well-curated international short film program. Some of our most anticipated feature films include:
• The PNW Premieres of The Demonatrix (co-directed by Aurelio Voltaire and Jeff Ferrell) and Grind.
• The meta slasher Big Baby, directed by Spider One, and starring Krsy Fox.
• The World Premiere of Dracula: The Night Around Us.
• The retro slasher comedy Friday the 69th.
• The World Premiere of Sitra Achra, a supernatural thriller from Portland filmmaker Levi Buchanan that mixes retro gaming with occult horror.
As Festival co-Director Gwen Callahan puts it, “This year’s lineup has all the originality, dark humor, and unforgettable scares we look for in independent horror. We’re excited to bring the work of these boundary-pushing filmmakers to Portland audiences.”
