PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival (PUFF), Philadelphia’s premiere DIY punk rock film festival, is back for its 11th annual celebration of genre-bending independent cinema. Running from August 25th through August 30th at Theatre Exile, this year’s festival stays true to its iconic tagline—underground, unconventional, and unforgettable—delivering six days of radical, unfiltered storytelling.
Featuring a stacked program of over 70 films—including feature films, shorts, music videos, and a dedicated afternoon highlighting local Philadelphian filmmakers—PUFF continues to serve as a beacon for audacious, outsider cinema.
Headline Event: Camp PUFF (Thursday, August 27)
The crown jewel of this year’s festival takes place on Thursday, August 27th with Camp PUFF, a nostalgic, retro evening inside “under the stars.” Hosted by local filmmaker Jack Stallion, the summer camp–themed extravaganza features summer snacks, refreshing libations, and a lineup of campy films. Attendees are encouraged to dust off their favorite summer camp gear and bring their compasses for a wildly fun night.
Tickets for the event are available as a special $30 Camp PUFF Pass, which includes access to the full evening’s film lineup and an exclusive, collectible embroidered Camp PUFF patch.
Headlining the Camp PUFF screening is Cramps! A Period Piece, described as a campy, John Waters-esque coming-of-age body horror that blends outrageous humor with vintage fever dream aesthetics. The film follows a blossoming young woman whose debilitating menstrual cramps physically manifest as terrifying a monster.
Bizarre Night (August 26)
A night showcasing the weirdest and wilder side of underground cinema.
Cain Came Home: A surreal, time-bending ghost story, about two estranged brothers whose lives are forever altered by a family tragedy.
Bizarre Block: PUFF’s signature late night shorts program, showcasing experimental films that break the mold of conventional storytelling.
Friday Night Double Feature (August 28)
The outrage keeps rolling into Friday, August 28th, featuring two heavy hitters:
The Killing Cell: A brutal, relentless entry into the found footage genre.
The Barn Part III: The cult-favorite franchise returns packed with over-the-top carnage.
All Day Saturday (August 29)
We’ll keep the coffee hot as we roll from 12pm to 12am. Hosted by horror host Mr. Lobo.
Quince: A striking coming-of-age horror film hailing from Mexico.
Sugar Rot: A visceral feminist body horror.
Plus Horror Shorts and 3 additional independent and unreleased feature films.
