Southern Gothic supernatural horror introduces an ancestral blood curse, a murdered twin sister, and a vengeance that refuses to die.

Soulful Minds Media LLC, in collaboration with Tenguu Vision, is developing its internationally recognized Southern Gothic horror property, The Legend of William Boucher: The Blood Curse, into a live-action feature following the festival success of its proof-of-concept short.
Set against the haunting legacy of 19th-century Louisiana, the story follows William Boucher, a man devastated by the brutal murder of his twin sister, Whisper. Driven by grief and vengeance, William unleashes a curse that transforms his fate and reaches across generations.
But death is only the beginning.
Blending supernatural horror with African diasporic folklore, ancestral spirituality, and the consequences of buried violence, The Legend of William Boucher introduces a mythology in which the past refuses to remain dead.
International horror recognition
The project has received three Best Horror awards from the Silver Wings International Film Festival, Fusionfilm International Film Festival, and Airflix London.
Additional recognition includes two award wins at the 2026 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival, where the project also received multiple nominations, including Best Horror/Thriller. The film was also named a Semi-Finalist at Dark Matters, a competition whose judges included horror filmmakers and industry professionals Jeffrey Reddick, Rachel Talalay, and Jack Sholder.
The film has gained recognition across international festivals while building awareness for its characters, mythology, and larger cinematic universe.
From proof of concept to feature film
Created from a story by Walter Curry Jr., the film is written and directed by Kedra L. Curry Quintana, with Jovaun L. Brown serving as co-writer and cinematographer.
The creative team includes producer Tim Walters, whose film industry experience spans major Hollywood productions, alongside the producing and marketing team at Soulful Minds Media LLC.
The original proof of concept uses AI-assisted visual filmmaking to introduce William Boucher’s supernatural world. With the feature screenplay completed, the team is developing a larger live-action production while exploring the property’s long-term storytelling potential.
The Legend of William Boucher: The Blood Curse represents an original horror property combining a tragic family story, supernatural vengeance, and cultural mythology.
Through Death Comes Life.
