At her mother’s funeral, live-audio engineer Leah Vale hears the embalmed woman whisper from the coffin: what she saw was not heaven—and Leah must kill her again. Pastor Grant Bell declares a miracle and turns the family’s grief into a national live event. The growing audience’s verdicts begin stripping people of choice and turning private memories into a shared voice. Leah’s brother Daniel is already changing.
The Mercy Choir is a standalone English supernatural-horror novel about family grief, coercive belief and a voice that people desperately want to believe. Leah must expose how the litany spreads through those answering it, while confronting her mother’s impossible request. It includes disturbing bodily imagery, coercive worship and loss of identity.
