An #OwnVoices Release, Minneapolis-based independent press Weirdpunk Books to publish a shocking new novella from the author of “Starving Ghosts in Every Thread”
Readers with an unrelenting appetite for the macabre will find their darkest desires fulfilled with author Eric LaRocca’s upcoming Weirdpunk Books release, Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke. Described by Bird Box author Josh Malerman as “a startling affair,” the newest Weirdpunk Books novella is a disturbing exploration of obsession set in an early 2000’s chat room.
A whirlpool of darkness churns at the heart of a macabre ballet between two lonely young women in an internet chat room in the early 2000’s – a darkness that threatens to forever transform them once they finally succumb to their most horrific desires. What have you done today to deserve your eyes?
“I was in such a strange headspace while writing this piece,” LaRocca explains. “The very first draft of the piece was written over the course of merely five days. Though I am and will continue to be an advocate for any artist’s mental health, I quite literally pushed myself to dangerous areas of my mind during those five days of creative Armageddon.”
Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke will be published on June 1st, 2021. Readers can preorder the book here by visiting: http://www.weirdpunkbooks.com/.
