BELIEVE Ultra-Low Budget Horror Short Plays Romford Horror Festival February 27th

Having premiered online at the British Horror Film Festival, Peter Stead’s Believe, arrives at Romford Horror Festival for its first in-person showing. A short film about a man trying to prove to his ex and to himself that his apartment is not haunted, Believe is a horrifying but drily humorous look at Sean’s scepticism as it is besieged by contrary evidence – a very relevant theme in today’s landscape of echo chambers, fake news and misinformation. Romford Horror Festival runs from the 25th to the 27th February.

As a homemade short, Believe showcases the ingenuity of resource-filmmaking and combines improvisation with the found footage style. It aims to inspire filmmakers everywhere to use the materials they already have, utilise their imagination and green light themselves.

The debutant actors are the director himself and Hope Bloxham, a striking new talent. It also features terrifying sound effects by Dutch film composer, Ruud Hermans.

Romford Horror Festival, as ever, will also feature the very best in indie and grassroots talent, both from the U.K. and Internationally.
