Shudder and RLJE Films Acquire Joe Begos’ Holiday Horror Film CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS

Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, and RLJE Films, a business unit of AMC Networks, have fully financed and partnered on Joe Begos’ anticipated holiday horror film, CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS, ahead of its world premiere at Beyond Fest. The film will be released In Theaters and on Shudder December 9, 2022.

In CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS, it’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal and violence, ultimately forcing Tori into a blood splattered battle for survival against the ruthless heavy metal Saint Nick himself.

Written and directed by Joe Begos (Bliss and VFW), CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS stars Riley Dandy (That’s Amor), Sam Delich (Spiderhead), Jonah Ray Rodrigues (“Mystery Science Theater 3000”), Dora Madison (Alone with You), Jeremy Gardner (After Midnight), with Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Munsters) and Abraham Benrubi (“ER”).

“Since I was a young kid I’ve dreamed of making both a crazy holiday horror movie unlike any other AND a no holds barred killer robot flick, but never imagined I could make them the SAME MOVIE,” said Begos. “The maniacs at RLJE Films and Shudder have allowed this fantasy to play out and greenlit this neon-soaked robot fever dream, championing the choice to shoot on film and build a real deal robot in 2022. This truly is the place to be making cool and original filmmaker driven genre films that, frankly, nobody else has the balls to finance.”

“Christmas is a favorite time of year for horror fans, going all the way back to Bob Clark’s infamous film Black Christmas. This December, we can’t wait to present Joe Begos’ gory and glorious contribution to the holiday horror cannon, CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS, which we know will delight Shudder members and become an annual favorite,” said Shudder General Manager Craig Engler.

CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS is THE next holiday horror classic, said Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films. “We’re beyond thrilled to partner with Shudder to bring this festive slasher film to audiences this holiday season.”

CHRISTMAS BLOODY CHRISTMAS was produced by Joe Begos and Josh Ethier (Bliss and VFW) through their Channel 83 Films banner.

Emily Gotto from Shudder and Ward and Betsy Rodgers from RLJE Films negotiated the deal with Channel 83 Films, Theo Vieljeux at DISSIDENT and Wayne Alexander of Alexander, Lawrence, Frumes & Labowitz, LLP.
