To commemorate the release of Dario Argento Panico, Shudder and the IFC Center will present “PANIC ATTACK: THE FILMS OF DARIO ARGENTO,” a series of films celebrating the works of the Giallo horror maestro, revealing his profound impact on horror and his lasting influence on cinema.
The series screens Jan. 31st — Feb. 8th at the IFC Center and will feature the following films:

Synopsis
In the secluded ambiance of hotel rooms, Dario Argento crafted his greatest cinematic creations, seeking solace from the outside world to delve into his nightmares. Now, he finds himself in a hotel room to return to the very setting that ignited his creative fervor to conclude his latest script and participate in an intimate interview, all while being followed by a film crew documenting his life for a movie about his illustrious career.
About the Director
Simone Scafidi (May 10, 1978), grew up in Tortona. He began shooting his first short films before he was 20, and studied directing and screenwriting. One of his first works, Cos’è l’amore, produced and interpreted by Franco Branciaroli for the Teatro degli Incamminati, accompanied the show of the same name on tour in 2003. In 2004, he directed his first feature film Gli arcangeli, considered by critics to be one of the toughest and most original debuts of the 2000s. In 2008, he directed the documentary biopic Appunti per la distruzione, inspired by the life of the mysterious writer Dante Virgili.
In 2013, he directed his third feature, La festa, a horror film centered on the disappearance of several boys and what really happened to them. In 2015, he directed Eva Braun, inspired by infamous political-sexual scandals that have shocked Italy. In 2015, he co-directed with Carlo A. Sigon the documentary Zanetti Story, following the life of footballer Javier Zanetti. The film reached the top spot at the Italian box office, and became one of the best-selling Italian films on home video that year. His sixth film, Fulci For Fake, the first biopic of Lucio Fulci, was presented in the official selection of the 2019 Venice Film Festival.
