Oppenheimer’s David Krumholtz Stars in the Dark Comedy FORELOCK

Caleb Alexander Smith Directs and Co-Stars with Production Underway in Los Angeles

David Krumholtz (Oppenheimer, Coen Brothers’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), Caleb Alexander Smith (“NCIS”), Emily Swallow (“The Mandalorian”), Alimi Ballard (USA Network’s “Queen of the South,” Peacock’s “One of Us is Lying”), and Chloe Farnworth (A24’s upcoming film MaXXXine) star in Forelock, it was announced today. The film is written and directed by Smith in his solo feature directorial debut.

The film is a Midnight Chimes production, the film and TV production company founded last year by award-winning sports journalist and broadcaster Lindsay McCormick (The Bounce Back, Sports Illustrated’s “The Bag with Rashad Jennings and Lindsay McCormick”) and Smith. Forelock is their inaugural project.

The dark comedy is produced by Midnight Chimes’ McCormick and executive produced by Russ Hammonds (Netflix’s “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “The Diplomat”) and Krumholtz. The film is co-financed by Midnight Chimes LLC. Production is currently underway in Los Angeles, CA.

“It’s an honor to collaborate with so many true artists both behind and in front of the camera. Even as a sardonic comedy, Forelock is a deeply personal story, and I’m thrilled I don’t have to take the journey alone,” said writer/director Caleb Alexander Smith.

“I’m super jazzed and grateful to have been asked to be an integral part of Caleb’s crystal clear unique vision for Forelock. Playing Randy is an exquisite challenge, a character portrayal that I hope will surprise audiences far and wide,” added David Krumholtz.

In Forelock, a naive fitness enthusiast (Smith) seeks a fresh start in Los Angeles, but collides with a Hollywood Boulevard grifter (Krumholtz) who exploits his uncanny resemblance to the world’s most famous superhero.
