Horror TV channel NYX UK announces fourteen channel premieres for November 2024, including SPOOKT, STAGE FRIGHT and SPRING Plus, Boris Karloff’s birthday is celebrated on Nov 23 with classic double-bill

NYX UK presents fourteen scary, sinister and spine-chilling channel premieres in November, headed up by Tony Reames’ terrific supernatural horror SPOOKT (2023), starring Eric Roberts, which screens on Wed 6 Nov, 9pm, and STAGE FRIGHT.(2014) Jerome Sable’s hilarious musical combo of Friday The 13th and Glee, starring Minnie Driver and Meatloaf. which airs on Fri 22 Nov, 9pm. Plus, on Fri 15 Nov, 9pm, there is Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s stunning, genre-bending body horror SPRING.

Also, on Sunday 23 November, the channel celebrates the birthday of the legendary actor Boris Karloff  who is widely acknowledged as one of the true icons of horror cinema. At 5pm there is THE GHOUL (1933), followed at 7pm by Roger Corman’s THE TERROR (1963) with both films spanning the bulk of his career as one of the most popular actors in the world.

Another Roger Corman movie, IT CONQUERED THE WORLD (1956) receives its premiere on Fri 8 Nov, 5pm. This cult-classic science fiction film, known for its significant impact on the genre, stars Peter Graves, Lee Van Cleef, and Beverly Garland. Another memorable sci-fi film from 1956 being shown on Fri 16 Nov, 5pm, is THE MOLE PEOPLE, directed by Virgil W. Vogel. Typical of the era’s creature features, it is noted for its distinctive creature design.

A distinctive entry in the Italian giallo genre is SHORT NIGHT OF GLASS DOLLS (1971), directed by Aldo Lado, which is scheduled for Thurs 21 Nov, 9pm. Another cult Italian entry, showing on Tues 12 Nov, 9pm, is BEYOND THE DOOR (1974), a supernatural horror thriller directed by Ovidio G. Assonitis and Robert Barrett, which is often cited as an Italian exploitation version of The Exorcist. Not to be outdone, another 70s cult classic with a memorable title is NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS (1975), directed by Amando de Ossorio, the fourth and final instalment in his Spanish “Blind Dead” series.

Other 9pm primetime premieres include UNEARTHED & UNTOLD: THE PATH TO PET SEMETARY (2017), a comprehensive documentary that delves into the making of the iconic 1989 horror film Pet Sematary (Fri 29 Nov) and three cutting-edge cult favourites from the eighties: the demonic MAUSOLEUM (Fri 1 Nov), gritty, punk-inspired dystopian horror FUTURE KILL (Fri 8 Nov), and graphic slasher PROWLER (Tues 5 Nov), featuring special effects by the renowned Tom Savini.

The popular Friday 5pm slot features two further premieres from the 1960s – Gerald Thomas’s hilarious spoof CARRY ON SCREAMING (Fri 22 Nov), with Fanella Fielding OBE in one of her most celebrated roles, and surreal psychological thriller SPIDER BABY (Fri 29 Nov), starring Lon Chaney. Jr.
