As a girl, Sun was a God Child worshipped by The Iron and Fire Ministry, a cult of violent religious Extremists. Her life in the cult ended as police stormed their compound and exchanged fire with the gun-toting flock of men, women, and children. Many faced a bloody end while their Reverend leader (D. Duke Solomon) was whisked off to prison.
Fifteen years later, Sun (Kiley Lotz) is now living like a drifter, disconnected from the world in her ramshackle van, her only constant. In an attempt to confront the trauma of her youth, she decides to travel back to the compound where it all happened. What Sun doesn’t know is that the Reverend is freshly out of prison, also on his way back home.
About the Filmmakers
Get Super Rad is a creative collective whose goal is to tell brand and narrative stories without ever falling into the trap of having a locked and defined style.
Their goal is to make content that feels unique and special to the project they create it for. Mostly, they want our work to look and represent the fun they had while generating it.
Get Super Rad was founded in 2013. It has since made two feature films (Future, The Russian Five) with a third film in post-production (Can’t See Sh*t). They have created content for television, broadcast, and web.
Kiley Lotz (they/them) is most well-known for their music under the moniker Petal, who has released highly acclaimed albums for Run For Cover records and has toured the world with the likes of Julien Baker, Shakey Graves, Camp Cope, and more. Petal’s new album ‘Magic Gone’ showcases Lotz’s prowess as both a vocalist and a songwriter, drawing equal influence from ‘70s powerhouses like Queen and Nina Simone as it does modern vocalists like Solange, Margaret Glaspy and Mitski.
So Fades the Light also co-stars popular indie musician Anika Pyle and notably has a majority LGBTQ cast and production crew.
