CT Paranormal Convention July 12-13 Adds True Crimes Theme

In its fifth year as Connecticut’s Original Paranormal Convention, the annual summer event has expanded by moving to a larger venue, by presenting more guest speakers than ever, and by incorporating another theme: “True Crimes.”

ParaConn is open to all ages, and for the first time takes place at Crosby High School, 300 Pierpont Road, Waterbury CT. There is ample free parking. It will be fully air-conditioned, with food trucks on the premises. There will be over 30 Special Guest Speakers, and 75 Vendors.

So why is there also a “True Crimes” element? Just as Connecticut is said to be one of the most haunted states, when it comes to True Crimes, CT is not immune to some very well-known cases, including some that rocked the country: The Cheshire Murders, The Wood Chipper Case, The Arsenic and Lace Case Of Amy Archer-Gilligan, Notorious Serial Killers Michael Ross and William Devin Howell, and so many more.

The True Crime and Law Enforcement term “Public Enemy Number 1” was first used in Connecticut in 1924 in New Britain, CT. It referred to Gerald Chapman who killed a Law Enforcement officer at a department store.

Law Enforcement that tracked down major national cases from Connecticut included Forensics Doctor Henry Lee, Detective Robert Keppel, and the Professor at University of New Haven who was instrumental in tracking down notorious serial killers Ted Bundy and Gary Ridgway.

Some of the finest and most knowledgeable speakers in the country on this topic will be at the convention. Attendees will also get to view the collection of true crime artifacts that will be on display all weekend.

In addition to the True Crimes element, and the over 30 Special Guests, much of the event’s interest revolves round two of the Legacy Special Guests of Honor, Butch Patrick and John Zaffis.

Pop-Culture icon, TV celebrity, and former child star BUTCH PATRICK is best known for his role as ”Eddie” on the beloved sixties television comedy THE MUNSTERS. JOHN ZAFFIS, “Godfather of the Paranormal” is a resident of CT and the nephew of Ed and Lorraine Warren. He hosted the television series “The Haunted Collector, and both he and Butch, or “Eddie Munster,” are looking forward to meeting area fans, signing autographs, taking photos, and being part of the weekend festivities.

Doors open at Noon each day for General Admission, 11am for VIP Special Early-Bird Admission. Advance general admission tickets are only $19.99 Noon-6pm (optional limited V.I.P. admission allows early entry at 11am with first access to vendors, preferred parking, and up-close seating for stage events).

The weekend is a smorgasbord of spooky attractions, featuring special guests, paranormal investigators, true crime experts and analysts, lectures, authors, entertainment, and other special events. Vendors from across the East Coast will include psychics, tarot & card readers, mediums, horror memorabilia, true crime topics, clothing, crafts, crystals, book sellers, healers, cryptids, movie merch & much more. It promises to be a very spirited event.

ParaConn V is presented and hosted by The Shaman & The Showman LLC, producers of the Salem ParaCon, CT Witch Fest, and the CT Psychic Fairfests.
