Epic Pictures Group Sets North American Release Date for the Thriller THE HUNTSMAN

Hollywood-based Epic Pictures Group is set to release the mystery thriller THE HUNTSMAN across North America. The film will be released in select theaters beginning February 6, 2026 and available for rent or purchase on video-on-demand February 10, 2026. THE HUNTSMAN, based on Judith Sanders’ award-winning novel, was directed by Kyle Kauwika Harris from a script co-written with Steven Jon Whritner and executive produced by Frank J. Malinoski. The film stars Shawn Ashmore (X-Men), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), Jessy Schram (Mad Men) and Garret Dillahunt (Fear the Walking Dead).

What happens when an act of compassion places you face-to-face with a man suspected of unspeakable crimes—and the truth is far more dangerous than anyone expects? That’s the question at the heart of THE HUNTSMAN. The official synopsis reads: When an ICU nurse volunteers to help a coma patient accused of murdering six women, he’s drawn into a chilling web of lies, obsession, and deadly secrets as a detective races to stop the killer.

“With The Huntsman I wanted to tap into the gray areas of morality, the limits of justice, and the slippery nature of truth creating a psychological tension that fuels the heart of the film. It forces viewers to lean in, to question every moment and to stay on the edge without relying on gratuitous violence. The true horror often lies not in what we see, but in what we don’t. The mind’s fragility is both a weapon and a vulnerability, one that we all share, regardless of our circumstances” says director Kyle Kauwika Harris. “In making this film, my goal is not just to entertain, but to evoke a visceral reaction that lingers long after the credits roll, as The Huntsman is a thrilling journey where the only certainty is that nothing is what it seems, and no one can be trusted. And in the uncertainty, I hope you find a story that both challenges and thrills, leaving you questioning the characters as they confront their inner demons, be it grief, guilt or paranoia.”

Epic Pictures CEO Patrick Ewald adds “This is the kind of elevated thriller we love backing. Dark, atmospheric, and driven by strong performances, THE HUNTSMAN delivers a smart, twist-forward mystery that keeps the pressure on and audiences guessing until the very end.”
