Martin Kemp Stars as Detective John Verney in the Latest Film from Shogun Films – “Doctor Plague” is Out Now

Pop icon and screen favourite Martin Kemp (The Krays, EastEnders, I’m A Celeb) stars in the chilling mystery thriller Doctor Plague, a dark and atmospheric serial killer film set in the heart of London. Martin Kemp plays Detective John Verney who is in the hunt for the serial killer known as ‘Doctor Plague’. Can John track down this brutal killer before the bodycount piles up! With the help of journalist Francesca (played by Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott) only time will tell whether the reign of Doctor Plague will come to an end.

Martin Kemp leads an acclaimed ensemble cast including Peter Woodward (The Patriot), David Yip (A View to a Kill), Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott (Nemesis,Helloween), Wendy Glenn (You’re Next), Daisy Beaumont (The World Is Not Enough), Gary Webster (Family Affairs, Minder, EastEnders) and Michael McKell (Allied).

Produced by Shogun Films Doctor Plague is out now (released January 12th 2026) and is the first release of the year for this UK production company with several more films slated for release throughout the year including spy action thriller Knightfall, horror film Harbinger as well as Guy Fawkes Blood and Fire. Plenty of great looking movies headed our way from the team over at Shogun Films. But lets get back to the first of these releases. Doctor Plague. The film has been released on both sides of the ocean and fans are able to pick up with the film on Blu-ray which is great news. Whats better is that the Blu-ray is region free so for those outside of the US, you can import it and add it to your collection.

Also in another great move for physical media, the soundtrack to Doctor Plague (by Robert Geoffrey Hughes and Chris Hurst) has also been released on vinyl, as well as a special extended edition on CD and digital streaming of the soundtrack.
