Gore, Curses & Killer Waves: Hawaii’s Answer to the Splatter Genre Has Arrived

HAWAIIAN SURF HORROR COMEDY “PLANKENSTEIN: A KILLER SURF MOVIE!”

Born from a battered surfboard found on Oahu’s North Shore and brought to life by an entirely local Hawaiian cast and crew, “Plankenstein” has launched a new horror sub-genre: the surfboard slasher. The film follows a cursed surfboard that protects a Hawaiian royal heir through a series of gruesome, darkly comic murders against the stunning backdrop of Kailua, Oahu.

After selling out its red carpet world premiere at Kailua Cinemas and completing successful theatrical screenings across Hawaii and the mainland, the film is now streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime, Fandango, TubiTV, VimeoTV, XUMO and Bloodstream—reaching horror fans and surf enthusiasts globally.
