Set in Victorian England, eccentric governess Winnifred Nottie arrives at a remote gothic manor to work for the Pounds family. Winnifred educates a snobbish Andrew and an overlooked Drusilla while fending off advances from Mr. Pounds and jealousy from Mrs. Pounds. As strange occurrences plague the manor, the staff and the family, suspicion stirs that Winnifred is not what she seems.
