Just in time for Halloween, Writer/Director Andrew Jara (The Empty Space) new short, The Shadow, releases on his Jara Films Youtube Channel from Nothing Ventured Media and IShape Productions!
After a successful festival run that included London’s Docklens Film Festival, Sovereign Lens Film Festival in New Mexico and CalaSCAREus Film Festival in California, The Shadow is finally available on the Jara films Youtube Channel!
The Shadow reteams Andrew Jara with actress Valerie Alene from the Empty Space. “I was happy to be asked to work with Andrew again.” Valerie stated.
The Shadow tells the story of a haunted house security guard (Valerie Alene) who finds a mysterious shadow. As she tries to ignore it, the shadow only grows and grows. Will she finally face it before it consumes everything?
“The story is basically about the dangers of ignoring something you know is bad,” Director Jara said. “I think with everything going on now when it feels like so many bad things are all happening at the same time it’s easy to be discouraged but I think that makes it more important than ever to make sure you don’t just look away.”
Produced by Jara’s Nothing Ventured Media and Ishape Productions, The Shadow also stars Maura Moreno, and Nora Brown. It was filmed in the abandoned courthouse on location in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
“We had a great time shooting in the old jailhouse,” Alene said, “Creepy location!”
