QUIVER DISTRIBUTION ACQUIRES ‘SAINT CLARE’ STARRING BELLA THORNE, REBECCA DE MORNAY, FRANK WHALEY, AND RYAN PHILLIPPE, DIRECTED BY MITZI PEIRONE

THE GRIPPING AND VISUALLY STRIKING MYSTERY-THRILLER OPENS IN SELECT THEATERS NATIONWIDE AND DIGITALLY JULY 18, 2025

Quiver Distribution has acquired the North American rights to the gripping and visually bold mystery-thriller, SAINT CLARE, starring Bella Thorne (the upcoming The Trainer, The DUFF), Rebecca De Mornay (The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Risky Business), Frank Whaley (Pulp Fiction, Broken Arrow) and Ryan Phillippe (Cruel Intentions, Crash). Award-winning filmmaker Mitzi Peirone (Braid) directed and co-wrote the feature film alongside Guinevere Turner (American Psycho, Go Fish). The film is based on the novel “Clare at Sixteen,” which was written by novelist Don Roff. Quiver Distribution will release SAINT CLARE in select theaters nationwide and on demand and on digital July 18, 2025.

SAINT CLARE is set against a small town where a solitary woman (Thorne) is haunted by voices that lead her to assassinate ill intended people and get away with it, until her last kill sucks her down a rabbit hole riddled with corruption, trafficking and visions from the beyond.

Bart Johnson (High School Musical), Joy Rovaris (Beauty in Black), Jan Luis Castellanos (13 Reasons Why, Uglies), Dylan Flashner (Bandit) and Erica Dasher (Leopoldstadt, The Burbs) also star.

“We are thrilled to share ‘Saint Clare’ with audiences,” said Quiver Distribution Co-Presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman. “The film unfolds as a visually striking and intense meditation into the sense of isolation and quiet evil that haunts this world, driven by a sublime performance from Bella Thorne and an evocative, gothic soundtrack from Zola Jesus.”

“I think making ‘Saint Clare’ taught me the same lessons the titular character is forced to master on her journey towards her own fate,” said Co-Writer/Director Peirone. “To me, artists and people of faith are rather alike: both endeavours require relentless vision, unwavering belief, and sacrifice. So just like the martyred visionary general Joan of Arc, Clare has taught me that when you are destined with vision and clarity of purpose, then nothing can scare you – not loneliness, not violence, not being misunderstood and called insane, not rejection and ultimately not even death.”

SAINT CLARE made its world premiere at the 2024 Taormina Film Festival then continued its exhibition at FrightFest, Oldenburg International Film Festival and SXSW Sydney. It won Best Narrative Feature and Best Director at the L.A. Independent Women Film Awards last year. The film’s haunting score was composed by renowned American singer-songwriter Zola Jesus whose sound combines electronic, industrial, goth and classical elements. Her previous work in film scores includes contributions to Jim Jarmusch’s “Only Lovers Left Alive.” Working alongside her on three tracks was Philip Klein, who curates music for Disney, Pixar, Netflix, Sony and ABC motion pictures. Klein also produced orchestral compositions for Aerosmith’s Las Vegas Residency “Deuces are Wild” from 2019 to 2022.

SAINT CLARE is executive produced by Bella Thorne, Cassian Elwes, Tom Culliver, Jere Hausfater, Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman, Larry Greenberg and TJ Smith, and produced by Arielle Elwes, Veronica Radaelli, David Chackler and Joel Michaely.

Larry Greenberg and TJ Smith from Quiver Distribution negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers and Jere Hausfater negotiated on behalf of the producers.
