ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES Returns with a Fresh Bite… And Terrifying Stars

The 1978 cult classic Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is back with a reboot, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, helmed by director David Ferino. The tomatoes are back… and this time, they’re artificially smarter.

Leading the charge of standout performers, Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier, Return to Nuke ’Em High) stars as the first to tackle the new tomato rampage, kicking off the action with her signature blend of horror and humor, layered by David Koechner (Anchorman, The Office) as the bumbling U.S. President’s Press Secretary, alongside Daniel Roebuck (The Munsters, Terrifier 3) who plays a high-ranking admiral haunted by decades of trying to bury the truth about the tomato menace.

John Astin reprises his iconic role as Professor Gangreen, Dan Bakkedahl (Veep) as the ever-present Wilbur Finletter, and Vernee Watson (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) as a tech specialist whose homespun logic helps ground the battle against bioengineered produce.

They’re joined by Oscar nominee Eric Roberts (Runaway Train), Myrna Velasco (Star Wars: Resistance), Samantha Bailey (The Listening), Noor Razooky (The Old Man) and Zachary Roozen (Bring the Law) as Chad, originally portrayed by Anthony Starke in Return of the Killer Tomatoes.

Organic Intelligence marks the fifth chapter in the long-running cult franchise, reviving the beloved blend of absurdist horror and satirical comedy for a new generation.

The film is the brainchild of original creators Costa Dillon and Stephen Peace who return as executive producers and continues the legacy of the 1978 cult hit made for just $100,000 which spawned three sequels and a Fox animated series.

W. Finletter Films and Killer Tomatoes Entertainment partnered with Atomic Toybox Entertainment (Michael Polis) and IVC/Olas Media (Chad Peace, Juan Hernandez and Anthony Aslofi) to oversee production with Polis and Roger M. Mayer producing.

Shot entirely in California, Organic Intelligence leans fully into its genre satire roots while updating its themes for today’s tech-obsessed world. Anchor Bay Entertainment will handle distribution, with a limited theatrical release planned for Halloween.

“This time, they’re not just back. They’re organically intelligent,” said creator Costa Dillon.

“We’re proud to be bringing back a franchise with this much cultural DNA,” said Thomas Zambeck, CEO of Anchor Bay. “Organic Intelligence is fresh, funny, weird, and self-aware- just the kind of beautifully chaotic project that fits our mission. Killer Tomatoes are ripe for reinvention.”
