The Horror Collective Brings Double Thrills to Frightfest 2025 with COVER & SUPER HAPPY FUN CLOWN

Entertainment Squad’s genre label, The Horror Collective, will unleash two highly anticipated titles at this year’s FrightFest in London: the taut psychological thriller COVER and the blood-soaked horror-comedy Super Happy Fun Clown

SUPER HAPPY FUN CLOWN – International Premiere
The international premiere of Super Happy Fun Clown, the latest from director Patrick Rea, will take place Sunday, August 24 at 4:00 PM at the ODEON Luxe West End, Screen 1. The film stars Jennifer Seward (I Am Lisa, The Stylist) as Jenn-O the Clown, a former child prodigy turned unhinged killer on a Halloween night spree, blending twisted inspirations from classic monsters and infamous murderers.

Early buzz from Panic Fest praised its mix of “playful, sometimes silly” tones with “unbridled slaughter,” anchored by Seward’s intense, visceral performance. Produced by Eric Winkler and Rea, with Winkler also penning the script, the film follows their earlier collaboration on I Am Lisa.

“This is a character piece wrapped in a slasher candy shell,” said Rea. “We wanted something emotionally raw yet gleefully unhinged and Jenn-O delivers both in spades.”

FrightFest co-director Greg Day added: “Fans are already responding with excitement to Super Happy Fun Clown. Like Patrick’s previous FrightFest hits, it’s a title people will queue up for, and we expect the reaction to be hugely positive.”

COVER – UK Premiere

The UK premiere of COVER, from filmmaker Cameron Francis, will screen Monday, August 25 at 6:00 PM at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square. Following its buzzworthy debut at Panic Fest 2025, the film delivers a stripped-down yet gripping narrative set largely in a remote motel. A traveling stamp dealer’s chance encounter with a woman fleeing an abusive relationship spirals into manipulation, trauma, and retribution.

The film stars Cameron Francis (Never Back DownGeorge & Tammy), Christopher Schmidt (RecountBait Shop), Katherine Lozon, and Garin Jones.

“Genre films are evolving, and COVER is part of that evolution,” said Francis. “It’s about what happens when people carry invisible wounds into seemingly simple situations — and how quickly things can become dangerous when no one’s telling the full truth.”

Shaked Berenson, founder of The Horror Collective, added: “Cameron has crafted a gripping, stripped-down thriller that delivers on both mood and momentum. COVER is exactly the kind of intelligent, elevated horror FrightFest’s audience craves.”
