Writer/Director Andrew Jara’s (The Empty Space) latest short, The Shadow, has hit 72,000k in a little over a week since releasing on his youtube page, jara_films.
The Shadow reteams Andrew Jara with actress Valerie Alene from the Empty Space and played at London’s Docklens Film Festival, Sovereign Lens Film Festival in New Mexico and CalaSCAREus Film Festival in California
The Shadow tells the story of a haunted house security guard (Valerie Alene) who finds a mysterious shadow. As she tries to ignore it, the shadow only grows and grows. Will she finally face it before it consumes everything?
“The shadow means a lot to me because it reunited me with Valerie Alene so to see it so warmly embraced makes me feel so gracious and thankful” Jara said. “We’ve gotten so many good comments and people asking for more. It goes to show that passion can pay off and you have to keep creating art!”
Produced by Jara’s Nothing Ventured Media and Ishape Productions, The Shadow also stars Maura Moreno, and Nora Brown. It was filmed in the abandoned courthouse on location in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
