Romero Pictures, DIGA Studios, and Heavy Metal Magazine Join Forces with Catherine Corcoran & Showtime/ Miramax Alum to form Briefcase Pictures

 George A. Romero, founded ‘Romero Pictures‘ in 1968 with ‘Night of the Living Dead,‘ which has long been credited with mainstreaming the horror movie genre. Now his son, George C. Romero– current CEO of Romeo Pictures, is following in his father’s legacy with Briefcase Pictures Film Fund and upcoming Production Facilities, devoted to the underserved world of independent production.

With a goal of developing relevant and captivating genre content, Briefcase Pictures‘ innovative trinity of successful legacy partnerships with DIGA StudiosHeavy Metal Magazine and Creative Alley Pictures aims make smaller budgets go further and ultimately creating a new barometer for quality, independent productions.

Expanding on this notion, the fund has also added Award-Winning genre Actress and Producer, Catherine Corcoran– who made horror movie history with her starring role in Netflix’s ‘Terrifier, former Showtime Television Development Coordinator and Producer, Sandra Avila and ‘Taken’ Producer, Michael Mandaville to its board of advisors.

Briefcase Pictures also includes The Sopranos and AMC’s Comic Book Men alum, Ed McKeever and Tampa business executive, Todd Oifer as the Chief Operating and  Chief Financial Officers; with other board members to include ’21 Jump Street’s Richard Grieco and Bryce C. Campbell (formerly domestic sales for Miramax Films).  

Briefcase Pictures aims to begin production on it’s first in-house feature in the Tampa area, this summer. More information can be found here.
